Lastest News

We are pleased to annouce that the Asics Running Clinic is returning to our store on Tuesday the 13 th of July from 6,30 pm with our Asics Tech Rep giving advice on shoes and the importance of correct footwear and will have his 3 D Foot Mapping to check your feet. Also a Physio will be here to give advice on injuries and prevention and Charlotte McDonald will be here also to give a sport massage.

Now that the Triathlon season has started just a quick note that we have a selection of Tri gear from Tri-Suits and training clothing from Zoot and also have Tri footwear from Zoot with a racing shoe and a training shoe to suit both running gait`s. With compression from 2XU and Skin`s for racing and training to keep your muscle`s working longer and stronger.

And finally an update at what we are doing in the shop ! Bob and Pete are racing on Sunday in the Twist Kingsclere 5 multi-Terrian run a 5 mile single lap race running through Kingsclere and surrounding countryside. You can enter on the day as all money raised is going to Friends of Kingsclere CE Primary School. Pete and Mark are also doing the Salomon Forest Trail race on Tues 29 th which is a 10 K race running through Swinley Forest. Results of these two races will be posted !

June update

Now that we are in June we have had some new shoes in store. Asics intrudce the Gel-Nimbus 12 and the Gel-Cumulus 12 which are upgrades of their very popular Neutral shoes and the Gel-3020 which is an upgrade of the popular Gel-3010. Also with new colourways for Gel-Kayano 16 and Gel-Gt 2150 in both mens and ladies.

Nike have brought out the lastset Air Pegasus 27 Plus which a new shoe going away from the air liner in the midsole to Cushlon midsole combined with Nike Zoom Air for extra cushioning. Also we have new colourways ways for the Mizuno Wave Rider 13 in mens and ladies and its sister shoe the Mizuno Wave Inspire 6 also mens and ladies.

As for what we are doing this month Bob,Steve and Mark are doing the Salomon South Downs Marathon on Saturday 12 June with Bob and Steve starting at the finish and running to the start and then joining Mark and running back to the finish. Also we will be running the Salomon Forest Trail 10 K at the end of the month at Swinley Forest in Bracknell.

Pete is racing well with a win at the first Thruxton 5 K series in 17 mins 34 secs with 3 races to go over the next few months he is hoping to keep his form up with speed being top of the training list before training for longer races towards the end of the year.

May Update

Lastest News from the shop !

Bob Steve and Dave completed their run round the Isle of Wight starting at 11pm 14th May and finishing 18 hours later with 80 miles under their belts which is a great effort considering the amount of hills they had to run up and having to run through the night.Check our Facebook Group out for pictures of the run.

Pete has competed in two races in the last couple of weeks firstly the Netley 10k in Southampton getting a P.B. of 36min 25 Secs and finishing 25 th overall. On 23 rd Pete also raced in the Marwell 10k on a very hilly course which was not helped by being very hot but was impressed with his time of 38mins 16 Secs and also coming second in his age cat and finishing 11th overall.

The shop is still having its May Sale and has introduced some bargin shoes into the sale starting at just £15 so pop instore and have a look for a bargin !!

Next month we have the Asics Running Clinic coming back to the store for a another evening with talks from the Asics Tech rep and his 3 D Foot mapping. More details to follow of dates and times.

May is upon us and its all go at our shop with new Summer stock coming in and some new shoes due in to.

Also the May Sale is still going on with up to 50% off selceted shoes and clothes.

We have started a Facebook Group which everyone is welcome to join and post Photo`s and comments on various runs you have done and what you have coming up.So if you are on Facebook have alook and see what you think ? Just enter Fast Forward in the search box.

Its a busy weekend for the staff at Fast Forward with Bob and his two friends Steve and Dave running round the Isle of Wight on the coastal path doing 70 miles in 15 hours for BLESMA. Pete is racing the Netley 10 k at Victoira Park Southhampton for his Running Club Overton Harrires in the final Hampshire Road League race of the season with an eye on beating his 10 k P.B. More details to follow on how the weekends events unfolded.

May Update

With the month of May nearly here we would like to inform you all of a May Sale ! We will have a selection of shoes and clothing reduced from 20 % to 50 % in store and on the website for the month of May.

We will have abit more Summer clothing coming into our store this month for those runners who like to feel the sun on there backs.Also we have Nike Lunarglide coming into the store in Summer 2010 colourway exculsive to running store.

On Saturday 15 th May three ex Falklands veterans Bob,Steve and Dave with be doing the IOW challenge running the coastal path route round the Isle Of Wight covering 70 miles in 15 hours to raise money for BLESMA (British Limbless Ex Servicemans Association) so if you want to sponsor Bob and his friends goto www.justgiving.com/roundtheisland70 and help this great cause.

Pete Ran the Virgin London Marathon in a time of 3 Hrs 20 mins 48 secs which was not the time he was hoping before but suffered a knee problem at 16 miles and had to walk/run the last 8 miles which was a had pill to swallow after all the good training he had done and was on course for his target time before his problem arose.But never the less Pete enjoyed the day and will be doing the marathon again and hope to have an injury free run.And with lots of races booked over the summer to keep Pete going, updates to follow !

Welcome to Spring !!

After three very successful events at our shop over the last few weeks Spring is in the air with Spring /Summer clothing coming into the shop.

The Newton /2xu evening went well with the Newton shoes causing alot of interest and the Asics Running Clinic when very well with some good information from Cath wheeler the physio for the evening and the 3D foot mapping. And the visit of Mike Gratton was very good giving handy tips to all marathon runners from Novice to elite.

This saturday 10th April we have a Brooks Party in store with our Brooks Rep Paul giving advice on Brooks shoes. There will be free gifts for customers who try Brooks shoes

Bob and a couple of his friends will be doing the Combe Gibbet on sunday 11th but doing it twice as they are in training for an Ultra Marathon later in the year more details will be posted.

Pete has been forced to pull out of the race as picked up a bit of a calf pull and didnt want make it worse with the Virgin London Marathon so close but with a bit of rest and a bit of cross training Pete should be ok on the day as its getting very close.

Future Events at our shop.

On the 1st of April we have an Asics Running Clinic in store between 6,30pm-8,30pm. The ARC consists of a presentation from our Asics Tech Rep and a local physio giving advice on running styles and correct footwear.

Also you will be able to talk to the phsysio on a one-to one basis and take part in Dartfish gait analysis and Asics 3D Foot Mapping System.

All attendees will get a free goodie bag ! so to avoid disappointment phone the shop now on 01256 463066 to book a place.

On the 10 th of April, Brooks will be holding another shoe party in our store with the Brooks Rep helping with gait analysis and explaining the benefits of Brooks shoes.

The lastest on Pete`s Virgin london Marathon training. The count down has really begun with the Marathon only a few weeks away, Pete raced in the Fleet Pre-London Half Marathon on Sunday 21/03/10 and gained another P.B. coming 40 th overall with a time of 79 mins 38 secs in a field of over 2000 runners. Pete has a couple of more weeks training before his last pre London race the Coombe Gibbet a 16 mile cross country race. Bob and a couple of his friends are also doing Coombe Gibbet but they are running to the start then doing the race itself clocking up 32 miles in the process.

Lastly Bob and Pete will be at the Brooklands 10 k on Sunday at Mercedes World Weybridge with a stall.
